The firm

Loftgardens Landscape Architecture is based in Sacramento, California.  We provide landscape architectural design services for commercial and residential projects, primarily in the Sacramento region and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.  We are licensed to provide full services throughout California.

Loftgardens is a small design firm, preferring to remain nimble and cost-effective in a competitive marketplace.  Our studio is located in a shared commercial space called the Green Living Center in Sacramento, which is a collective of businesses with a shared focus on sustainability and resource efficiency.  Our address is 919 20th Street, Sacramento, CA 95811.

Our people

Edmonds H. Chandler III – Director

Ed Chandler is Director of Design & Operations for Loftgardens Landscape Architecture.  Ed moved to Sacramento in fall of 2004 to begin working at The HLA Group, Inc., a mid-size landscape architecture and planning firm in Midtown Sacramento, until leaving the firm spring of 2011 to manage Loftgardens full-time.  Prior to coming to Sacramento Ed studied at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, receiving a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture with minors in City & Regional Planning and Music.

In addition to managing Loftgardens, Ed is also active in the community.  He is currently Chair of the City of Sacramento Design Commission, where he works with the other commissioners and City staff to help ensure a high standard of design for projects constructed in the City.  Ed is also Vice Chair of the Urban Land Institute Young Leaders Group in Sacramento.  Ed proudly lives in Oak Park, a re-emerging neighborhood southeast of Midtown, where he has been a homeowner since early 2006.
